Elevated serum lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) is an independent risk factor for poststroke mild cognitive impairment (PSMCI). Higher Lp-PLA2 levels correlate with poorer cognitive function, suggesting its potential as a biomarker.
