Zinc Deficiency in Critically Ill Patients: Impact on Clinical Outcome

Zinc deficiency is highly prevalent in critically ill patients, affecting 86% of those studied. Despite its commonality, zinc deficiency did not correlate with illness severity or poorer patient outcomes in this ICU cohort.
