Endothelium-derived extracellular vesicles (EDEVs) expressing PECAM or VE-cadherin show potential as biomarkers for sepsis severity and endothelial permeability. Elevated levels of these EDEVs correlate with increased sepsis severity, offering diagnostic and prognostic value.
