  • Reviewed 297 items from 48 existing scales, selecting 68 for content validity.
  • Utilized item response theory and confirmatory factor analyses on two independent samples (N=803 and N=408) to select eight items for the GADIT.
  • Established validity by regressing GADIT scores against known correlates of Gaming Disorder.

  • The GADIT demonstrated good model fit and excellent internal consistency (Cronbach's alphas = 0.77-0.92).

  • The GADIT exhibits strong psychometric properties across diverse samples and collection methods.
  • The tool is valid against existing scales and associated variables of Gaming Disorder.
  • A tentative cut-off score of 5 is recommended for screening Gaming Disorder.
