    Background:

    • Herpes simplex encephalitis (HSE) is a severe neurological condition.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare the efficacy of acyclovir versus vidarabine in treating herpes simplex encephalitis.
    • To evaluate mortality rates and long-term neurological sequelae in HSE patients.

    • A randomized controlled trial involving 127 patients with suspected HSE.
