Purpose of the Study:

  • A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) experiment was conducted on 50 patients with co-existing endodontic and periodontal lesions.
  • Bacterial identification focused on Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, and Tannerella forsythia.

  • Isolates of Porphyromonas gingivalis were identified in 91% of periodontium samples.
