This study shows combining lipoabdominoplasty with laparoscopic cholecystectomy safely addresses gallstones and body contouring. This approach improves cosmetic outcomes by avoiding extra abdominal scars.
Area of Science:
- Plastic Surgery
- General Surgery
Background:
- Increasing patient demand for reduced postoperative scarring and fewer surgical procedures.
- Need for integrated solutions addressing both medical conditions and aesthetic concerns.
Observation:
- A case study involving a patient requiring cholecystectomy and lipoabdominoplasty.
- Concurrent treatment of gallstone disease, abdominal wall laxity, and excess skin.
Findings:
- Lipoabdominoplasty combined with laparoscopic cholecystectomy successfully treated gallstone disease and improved body contour.
- Eliminated the need for traditional trocar incisions, thereby preventing associated abdominal skin scarring.
Implications:
- This combined procedure offers a safe and effective option for select patients with cholecystolithiasis and body contour deformities.
- Potential for enhanced patient satisfaction through improved cosmetic results and reduced surgical burden.
