Association between human leukocyte antigen class II-DR-DQ and narcolepsy: a case control study

Narcolepsy type 1 is strongly associated with the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) DQB1*06:02 allele and the DRB1*15:01-DQA1*01:02-DQB1*06:02 haplotype. Patients with this allele showed shorter REM sleep latencies, suggesting DQB1 genotyping for narcolepsy screening.
