The urinary bladder is a hollow, muscular sac that temporarily stores urine before it is expelled from the body. It can hold approximately 600 mL of urine prior to micturition. The bladder is retroperitoneal and located behind the pubic symphysis in the pelvic floor.

  • The median APPLICATIONS score was 7, indicating moderate functionality.
  • Most apps (78%) lacked professional medical involvement.
  • Features like voiding/bowel diaries and exercise tracking were present in 30-40% of apps, while reminder systems were in 53%.

Conclusions:

  • Current PFD apps offer moderate utility but limited disease information and decision support.
  • Enhancing app development through collaboration with healthcare providers is recommended to better meet patient and clinician needs.
