Summary

Calcimimetic R568 reduced parathyroid hormone (PTH) in uremic rats but did not impact aortic valve calcification (AVC). Effective AVC treatment requires lowering both PTH and phosphate levels, suggesting combination therapy for chronic kidney disease (CKD).
