Depo-medroxyprogesterone acetate intramuscular (DMPA-IM) and norethisterone enanthate (NET-EN) injectable contraceptives significantly decrease testosterone and SHBG levels. These hormonal changes do not explain sexual behavior or function in women using these contraceptives.
