  • To investigate how forecast visualization design choices influence public risk perception and behavioral intentions.
  • To examine the effects of outcome focus (cases vs. deaths) and data quantity (more vs. less) in forecast visuals.

Main Methods:

  • An online experiment with 236 participants exposed to health alerts with different forecast visualizations or text-only.
  • Participants viewed one of eight visual versions or no visual.
  • Behavioral intentions were measured via risk-related appraisals (threat and efficacy).
