Water-alternating-gas (WAG) injection enhances CO2-enhanced oil recovery (CO2-EOR) by improving sweep efficiency in heterogeneous reservoirs. This review updates CO2-WAG techniques, addressing challenges for better CO2 utilization and sequestration.
