DOTATATE PET Imaging in Olfactory Neuroblastoma and Association with SSTR Expression

All olfactory neuroblastomas (ONBs) express somatostatin receptors (SSTRs), showing DOTATATE avidity. This suggests Ga-68 DOTATATE PET/CT is a valuable imaging tool for monitoring recurrent and metastatic olfactory neuroblastoma.

Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the utility of Ga-68 DOTATATE PET/CT in patients with olfactory neuroblastoma.
- To assess the correlation between SSTR2 expression and DOTATATE avidity in ONB.

- Retrospective review of 96 endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery cases for ONB.
- Histo (H) scores and normalized DOTATATE standardized uptake values (nSUVs) were measured.
- Nine ONB patients were included.
Main Results:
- All included ONBs showed positive SSTR2 expression (mean H-score: 180).
- All ONBs demonstrated DOTATATE avidity (mean nSUV: 6.7).
- No significant correlation was found between H-score and nSUV (r² = 0.24, p = 0.18).
Conclusions:
- SSTR2 expression is consistently present in ONB.
- DOTATATE avidity is observed in all ONBs.
- Ga-68 DOTATATE PET/CT may be a valuable imaging tool for monitoring recurrent and metastatic ONB.
