Genome-wide association studies or GWAS are used to identify whether common SNPs are associated with certain diseases. Summary

Atopic dermatitis (AD) significantly increases the risk of developing keratoconus (KC). This study confirms a causal link, advising regular eye exams for AD patients to enable early detection and prevention of KC.
