Background:

  • Trace elements (TEs) play crucial roles in biological processes, and their dysregulation may impact OA.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the correlation between serum TE levels and OA progression.
  • To explore the potential causal relationship between specific TEs and OA using Mendelian randomization.
  • To identify key TEs associated with OA for potential therapeutic interventions.

  • A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies were performed.
  • Two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was employed to assess causality.
