Summary

Augmented baseplates in reverse shoulder arthroplasty significantly reduce bone removal by approximately 50% and provide 2.4 mm of true lateralization compared to standard baseplates.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare bone removal volume and net lateralization between standard and augmented baseplates.

  • CT scans of 21 patients with varying glenoid inclination were analyzed.
  • Four surgeons virtually placed neutral and augmented baseplates.
