Background:

Epilepsy management often involves sequential antiepileptic drug (AED) trials.
Failure of monotherapy necessitates exploring alternative treatment strategies, including polytherapy.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy of multiple drug therapy in adults with epilepsy who failed initial single-drug treatments.
To assess the impact of polytherapy on seizure frequency in a refractory epilepsy cohort.

Main Methods:

Retrospective survey of 66 adult epilepsy patients.
Analysis of seizure frequency changes after initiating multiple drug therapy.

Main Results:

Significant seizure reduction (≥75%) observed in only 16.5% of patients.
