Vitamin D and gut microbiome in preterm infants

Vitamin D deficiency in preterm infants did not directly correlate with intestinal dysbiosis. However, lower levels of vitamin D were linked to a reduced ratio of beneficial Lactobacillaceae to potentially harmful Enterobacteriaceae in the infant gut.
