    Background:

    • Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a group of clonal hematopoietic stem cell disorders.
    • Understanding the immune system's role in MDS is crucial for diagnosis and treatment.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the immune status of patients with myelodysplastic syndromes.
    • To correlate immune abnormalities with FAB classification subtypes of MDS.

    Main Methods:

    • Studied 52 MDS patients classified by FAB criteria.
    • Performed serum electrophoresis, immunoelectrophoresis, direct Coombs test, and antibody testing.
