  • To evaluate the impact of standardization on radiologist preparation and administrative burden.

  • Anonymous electronic surveys were used to gauge abdominal radiologists' opinions on MDCs.
  • A standardized Excel template, based on guidelines, was implemented for MDC case submission.
  • Template adherence and effectiveness were assessed through surveys at multiple time points.

Main Results:

  • Adherence to the standardized template was high (89%).
  • Key improvements included increased provision of image location (36% to 70%) and decreased non-adherence to submission deadlines (36% to 17%).
  • While standardization was recognized, challenges with remote imaging uploads persisted.

Conclusions:

  • Standardizing MDCs leads to higher adherence and more efficient preparation.
  • This standardization has the potential to significantly reduce radiologist administrative burdens.
  • Future integration of AI and electronic health record functionalities may further enhance MDC efficiency.
