Paediatric renal hilar paraganglioma

• A pediatric patient presented with abdominal pain, dyspnea, left varicocele, and hypertension.
• Imaging revealed a paraganglioma situated at the renal hilum, adjacent to major renal vessels.

Findings:

• The child underwent successful surgical excision of the retroperitoneal paraganglioma.
• Post-operative recovery was uneventful, with resolution of presenting symptoms.

Implications:

• This case demonstrates the feasibility of complete resection for challenging retroperitoneal paragangliomas in pediatric patients.
• Successful management can alleviate significant symptoms, including hypertension and varicocele, improving quality of life.
