Summary

Thiol-disulfide homeostasis is altered in girls with premature thelarche and precocious puberty. Native thiol and total thiol levels can help distinguish these conditions from healthy controls.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate TDH in girls with premature thelarche (PT) and precocious puberty (PP).
  • To compare TDH parameters between girls with PT, PP, and healthy controls.
  • To determine correlations between TDH and hormonal levels (LH, FSH, E2).

Main Methods:

  • A case-control study involving 39 girls with PT, 41 girls with PP, and 46 healthy controls.
  • Evaluation of native thiol (NT), disulfide, and total thiol (TT) levels.
  • Correlation analysis with LH, FSH, E2, and ROC curve analysis.
