Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the clinical applicability and utility of the ASPECT Hydrocephalus System.
  • To compare the ASPECT system with the International Classification of Disease (ICD-10) for hydrocephalus patient characterization.

Main Methods:

  • Two hundred hydrocephalus patients (pediatric and adult) at Copenhagen University Hospital were analyzed.
  • Patient data were described using the ASPECT Hydrocephalus System based on the latest brain imaging.

  • The ASPECT Hydrocephalus System is robust and applicable to a diverse hydrocephalus patient population.
  • ASPECT provides comprehensive characterization beyond ICD-10 limitations, potentially improving clinical decision-making and research.
  • Further validation in prospective studies is recommended to confirm feasibility and utility.
