    Background:

    • Investigating non-neoplastic inappropriate thyrotropin (TSH) secretion, a rare condition.
    • Assessing anterior pituitary function, imaging, and hormonal profiles in affected individuals.

    Observation:

    • A 47-year-old male with schizophrenia and hyperthyroidism presented with inappropriate TSH secretion.
    • Thyroid-stimulating hormone levels increased after TRH stimulation and propylthiouracil treatment.
    • TSH levels decreased with triiodothyronine (T3) administration and were partially blunted by glucocorticoids.

    Findings:

    • Intravenous dopamine suppressed prolactin but not TSH response to TRH.
