Summary

Glaesserella parasuis (GPS) serotyping methods have evolved from gel immunodiffusion (GID) and indirect hemagglutination assay (IHA) to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) typing. PCR methods, targeting GPS capsular polysaccharides, offer improved accuracy and efficiency for identifying this swine pathogen.
