An unusual case of appendicitis

An unusual case of appendicitis is presented. The appendix was not found in its usual site: it was found to be projecting from the ascending colon about 10 cm from the junction of the taeniae of the caecum. It is suggested that if the appendix is not located in its usual place, a thorough examination should be made of other sites before the search is abandoned.
