Intertrochanteric osteotomies for degenerative hip conditions. Case reports

The place of intertrochanteric osteotomy in the management of degenerative conditions of the hip in middle-aged and younger patients is outlined. The aim of the osteotomy is to allow a biological solution to be found for a patient's lesion. This is achieved by utilizing the natural healing efforts of the hip and channelling them in the optimal direction.
