CD10 expression is significantly associated with lymphovascular invasion in invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC). This finding suggests CD10 may be a potential prognostic marker for breast cancer patients, though further research is needed.

Background:

  • Female breast cancer is the most common cancer globally and a leading cause of cancer mortality.
  • In India, breast and cervical cancers are the most prevalent among women.
  • Invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) is a common type of breast cancer requiring further prognostic markers.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To analyze the expression of CD10 in invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC).
  • To correlate CD10 expression with clinicopathological features and hormone receptor status in IDC.
  • To investigate the potential of CD10 as a prognostic marker in IDC.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 42 IDC NST cases.
  • Assessment of clinicopathological parameters including age, tumor site, size, grade, lymph node, lymphovascular, and perineural invasion.
  • Evaluation of hormone receptor status (ER, PR, Her2Neu) and CD10 expression using immunohistochemistry.
  • Statistical correlation using the chi-square test.

Main Results:

  • CD10 expression was positive in 93% of IDC cases.
