Age-Related Association Between Unilateral Single-Channel and Double-Channel Surgery and Postoperative Multifidus
Minimally invasive spinal surgery (MISS) did not significantly impact multifidus muscles in younger patients. However, older patients (≥65) undergoing MISS experienced increased muscle atrophy and fat infiltration, linked to lateral recess stenosis and surgery duration.
