Purpose of the Study:

  • To compare the risk of PAM associated with complications in the first versus the last pregnancy.

Conclusions:

  • Pregnancy complications, especially those occurring in the most recent pregnancy, are strongly associated with an increased risk of pregnancy-associated maternal mortality.
  • The findings underscore the importance of monitoring and managing pregnancy complications to reduce maternal mortality.
  • Further research may explore specific mechanisms linking these complications to mortality and refine preventive strategies.
