    • The majority of avoidable scarring from breast biopsies stems from unnecessary radial incisions.
    • Periareolar incisions are suitable for accessing most breast lesions.
    • Incisions along Langer's lines can be used for lesions requiring access away from the areola.

    Implications:

    • Adopting alternative incision techniques, such as periareolar or Langer's line incisions, can significantly reduce patient scarring.
    • Minimally invasive surgical approaches can alleviate patient fear, encouraging earlier diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
    • Improved cosmetic outcomes through surgical technique can lessen emotional trauma and enhance patient satisfaction after breast procedures.
