This study shows diode laser therapy successfully treated a patient with frenum-related sensitivity. Laser frenectomy offers an effective alternative for correcting abnormal frenum attachments, improving appearance and oral health.
Area of Science:
- Dentistry
- Oral Surgery
Background:
- The frenum, a mucous membrane fold, attaches oral tissues to the lip and cheek.
- Abnormal frenum attachments can cause midline diastema, affect plaque control, and lead to mucogingival issues.
- Traditional frenectomy uses blades, while laser-assisted techniques offer a modern approach.
