Heart rate variability in chronic ischemic stroke: analysis during the sleep-wake cycle

Chronic ischemic stroke patients show reduced heart vagal activity, indicated by heart rate variability (HRV) changes. This autonomic nervous system (ANS) imbalance persists, particularly during sleep, months after the initial stroke.
