A new rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) algorithm accurately simulates vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) and photonic crystal surface-emitting lasers (PCSELs). This enhanced RCWA method is faster and as accurate as traditional methods for laser design.
