Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To analyze outcomes of single-setting multiligament knee reconstructions (MLKI) at a minimum 12-month follow-up.
  • To compare objective gait, squat, stability, and fluoroscopic examinations with patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs).
  • To compare outcomes between different injury types (sports vs. road traffic accidents) and age groups (<30 vs. >30 years).

Main Methods:

  • Arthroscopic reconstruction of cruciate ligaments and autograft reconstruction of collateral ligaments.
  • Postoperative management included non-weight-bearing for 6 weeks and early range of motion exercises.

  • Significant improvements in PROMs and stability were noted postoperatively, with no significant differences between KD groups, age categories, or injury mechanisms.

Conclusions:

  • Single-setting multiligament knee reconstructions demonstrate significant improvements in knee stability and patient-reported outcomes.
  • Outcomes were comparable across different Küntscher and Gurtner (KD) injury classifications.
  • Age and injury mechanism (sports vs. RTA) did not significantly impact functional recovery or stability at the 1-year follow-up.
