Ubiquitous genome streamlined Acidobacteriota in freshwater environments

Genome-streamlined Acidobacteriota, named Acidiparvus, are abundant free-living scavengers in freshwater. This study details their limited metabolism, auxotrophy, and unique adaptations, proposing two new species.
