Serum sirtuin 1 levels did not significantly differ between patients with diabetic nephropathy and coronary artery disease compared to those without. This suggests sirtuin 1 is not a reliable biomarker for coronary artery disease in this patient group.

- Serum sirtuin 1 levels do not differ significantly between diabetic nephropathy patients with and without coronary artery disease.
- Sirtuin 1 is unlikely to be a strong indicator of the presence or severity of coronary artery disease in this population.
