Prosaposin/Saposin Expression in the Developing Rat Olfactory and Vomeronasal Epithelia

Prosaposin is expressed in developing rat olfactory organs. It is found in mature olfactory receptor neurons from birth and in immature vomeronasal receptor neurons, suggesting distinct roles in olfactory and vomeronasal development.
