    Summary

    Discontinuation of beta-carotene and canthaxanthin therapy allowed dark adaptation and electroretinography (ERG) parameters to normalize in patients. However, crystalline retinopathy and pigment epithelial defects persisted, indicating no reversibility for these specific ocular conditions.
