  • Utilized univariate and multivariate regression analyses to assess associations between patient characteristics and comorbidities.

  • Over half of the AD patients (231/439) presented with at least one comorbidity.
  • A positive family history of allergic rhinitis or sinusitis was significantly associated with increased odds of comorbidities (OR > 2.7).
  • Elevated IgE levels demonstrated a negative association with comorbidities (OR < 0.6), while familial atopy scores showed a positive association (OR > 1.5).

Conclusions:

  • Family history of allergic rhinitis/sinusitis and familial atopy scores are key factors associated with comorbidities in adult AD patients.
  • Elevated IgE levels appear to have a protective or inversely associated role concerning comorbidities in this cohort.
  • These findings can aid in better risk stratification and early intervention strategies for individuals with atopic dermatitis and its associated conditions.
