Summary

This study highlights a successful surgical treatment for high-risk prostate mucinous carcinoma in a 65-year-old man. Robot-assisted surgery led to no biochemical recurrence after two years, suggesting a positive prognosis for this rare cancer.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To report a case of high-risk prostate mucinous carcinoma.

  • A 65-year-old male patient with elevated prostate-specific antigen (PSA) underwent MRI and biopsy.
  • Diagnosis of mucinous adenocarcinoma (Gleason score 4+3=7, cT3bN0M0) was confirmed.
  • Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and lymph node dissection were performed.

Main Results:

  • Pathology confirmed mucinous adenocarcinoma (Gleason 4+3=7, pT3aN1M0) with extraprostatic extension and lymph node metastasis.
