Spirocyclic iridoid alkaloids from Plumeria rubra

Four new alkaloids, Plumerianoids A-D, and a new degraded alkaloid, 8-epi-plumerianine, were isolated from Plumeria rubra. Structural analysis revealed challenges in differentiating epimeric pairs using standard spectroscopic methods.
