Assessing alcohol consumption across phosphatidylethanol levels using HDL-cholesterol as a predictor

This study shows phosphatidylethanol (PEth) levels correlate with High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C), enabling estimation of average daily alcohol consumption in populations. Higher PEth levels indicate increased ethanol intake.
