Summary

Simultaneous dislocation of all five carpometacarpal joints is rare. Open reduction and internal fixation successfully restored hand function and strength in two new cases.

Background:

Simultaneous dislocation of all five carpometacarpal joints is an uncommon injury.
Management is often delayed due to concurrent severe injuries.

Observation:

Two new cases of simultaneous five carpometacarpal joint dislocation are presented.
Previous literature includes four reported cases.

Findings:

Open reduction and internal fixation were required for definitive treatment in both cases.
This surgical approach restored the functional anatomy of the hand.

Implications:

Successful surgical intervention can lead to stable, pain-free joints.
Restoration of normal grip and pinch strength is achievable.
Highlights the importance of timely surgical management for complex hand injuries.
