Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate and compare breast sensibility after various breast reconstruction techniques.
  • To identify which breast reconstruction method yields the best sensory outcomes.

Main Methods:

  • A comparative study involving 90 patients undergoing different breast reconstruction methods.
  • Included techniques: Latissimus Dorsi (LD) flap with implant, LD flap with fat grafting, exclusive fat grafting, Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator (DIEP) flap, and implant-based reconstruction.
  • Sensibility was assessed using Semmes Weinstein filaments on 7 zones, comparing to the native breast.
