Increased Salt-Sensitive Blood Pressure in Women vs Men: Is Relative Hyperaldosteronism the Mechanism?

Women exhibit higher salt-sensitive blood pressure (SSBP) and aldosterone (ALDO) levels compared to men. However, similar 24-hour urine ALDO levels suggest that a hyper-aldosterone state does not explain these sex differences in SSBP.
