Background:

Limited adoption of 360-degree feedback in surgery.
No existing tools assess intraoperative performance across technical, nontechnical, and teaching skills.
Need for a tool to evaluate surgeon performance in the operating room.

Purpose of the Study:

Evaluate the overall findings of a novel 360-degree feedback tool for surgeons.
Assess the perceived value of the intraoperative 360 (i360) tool among operating room colleagues.
Identify barriers and facilitators to implementing the i360 tool.

Main Methods:

Combined 3 validated surgeon performance scales into the i360 tool.
Administered anonymous i360 surveys to perioperative staff.
Conducted semi-structured interviews with surgeons and surgical leaders.

Main Results:

960 surveys completed for 88 surgeons over 2 years.
High composite ratings for technical (4.87/5) and nontechnical skills (4.65/5).
Teaching skills rated 2.92/3; no significant score differences by demographics.

Conclusions:

The intraoperative 360-degree feedback tool is feasible and perceived as valuable.
Feedback is actionable, promoting operating room efficiency, teamwork, and patient safety.
The i360 tool offers specific insights for surgeon improvement within the OR.
