Distinguishing type-1 myocardial infarction (T1MI) from type-2 myocardial infarction (T2MI) is crucial. Biomarker profiles, particularly the high-sensitivity troponin I (hs-cTnI) to procalcitonin (PCT) ratio, can effectively differentiate T1MI from T2MI in non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) patients.
