Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate meniscus and ligament injuries in tibial plateau fractures using MRI.
  • To assess soft tissue injuries in relation to Schatzker and Tscherne classifications.
  • To determine the predictive value of classifications for soft tissue injuries.

  • Retrospective review of 185 patients with tibial plateau fractures.

  • High-energy fractures are associated with higher Tscherne grades and increased meniscus/ligament injuries.
  • The Tscherne classification is a useful predictor of soft tissue injuries; preoperative MRI is a valuable diagnostic tool.
